AFRP is dedicated to finding good permanent homes for abandoned, stray and abused companion animals and ending the pet overpopulation crisis through focused spay/neuter programs.
We are excited to be celebrating our 25 years of service to the animals and people in our community.
When founded in 1998, AFRP was the first foster-based animal rescue in Monterey County. We are proud to have saved over 25,000 animals over the past 25 years, and are continually looking for ways to expand our programs to meet the needs of our ever-changing community.
We look forward to another 25 years and 25,000 more lives saved.
AFRP was founded in 1998 by four compassionate individuals and began with a handful of volunteers, a garage office space, and a modest adoption corner at a local pet store in Pacific Grove. Since that time, AFRP has grown into a dynamic organization with over 400 active volunteers, a dedicated staff and a hard-working board of directors.
