Stan is a 5-year-old, 55-pound Standard Poodle looking for his second chance after coming to AFRP in a state of neglect after being retired from a backyard breeding situation. He’s feeling much better after getting a nice bath and a dental cleaning. Stan may not have gotten much attention or training in his previous home, but he’s a good-natured and friendly dog that will quickly learn the ins and outs of being a wonderful companion dog. Stan loves meeting people and he is well-mannered around other dogs, unknown with cats at this time. He does jump up and he is very strong on the leash, so he will need a steady and experienced adopter that can continue his training. Due to his size and energy level adult adopter or family with kids over age 6 preferred. Registration for obedience classes will be a requirement for Stan’s adoption. This is a breed that requires regular professional grooming. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved.
