Shadow is a sweet-natured 10-month-old, 82-pound Goldendoodle looking for a patient and experienced adopter that can work with the special needs of a shy dog. Shadow came to us when his guardian could no longer care for him. Due to COVID, he did not get a lot of socialization as a young puppy, and he is timid when meeting new people and experiencing new things, but once he feel safe he’s a happy-go-lucky boy with a lot of goofy energy. He’s a growing boy, and can be a bit clumsy and unaware of his large size, so he’ll do best in a household with no young children, unsteady adults or small animals. Shadow is house trained and knows how to sit when asked. He’s eager to learn more and he’ll benefit from obedience classes. Shadow loves to walk, hike and play fetch, and when he’s all tired out he loves to rest at your feet for a nice nap. He gets along nicely with other dogs and greatly enjoys the company of other active, large dog friends. He is not an apartment or condo dog, and needs plenty of space to romp and run. Shadow has had some medical issues with his ears, and he will need routine ear care and regular check ups. He also has some mild separation anxiety and will do best in a household were people are home much of the time and can help him overcome his insecurities.
