Hi, I'm Ryder. I was adopted on July 18!
Pit Bull
White/Tan
Baby, Male
Ryder is a smart and lovable 4-month-old, 26-pound Pit Bull mix puppy that came to AFRP from the Monterey County Animal Services in need of surgery to correct a condition called Cherry Eye. He has made a wonderful recovery and he’s doing great in foster care. His foster mom calls Ryder is an energetic bulldozer of a puppy who loves to play with the big dogs! As soon as he gets tired, he will sleep for hours (snoring) and when he’s awake he will always want to be by your side. He is house trained and does not have any accidents overnight. He is quiet both in a crate and exercise pen. He is a master of sit, down, go home, wait, paw (left and right), high five (left and right). Loves to chew on toys. He is prone to to stealing shoes – look out! Ryder is still working on leash walking – he does not pull but will chew on the leash if left unattended, pull towards children, and sit and whine to say hi to other dogs. He will do best in a household with another energetic, larger dog to wrestle with, no kids, and probably no cats (although he might do okay with a cat that lets him know who’s the boss!). Experience with this breed is a plus. If you are interested in continuing to work with Ryder to make sure he’s a good ambassador for his breed, please fill out an online application.
