Hi, I'm Petunia. I was adopted on June 25!

German Shorthaired Pointer Mix

Brown and White

Baby, Female

Petunia is sweet and affectionate 2-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix puppy that was raised in foster care with her mother Tippy and her six siblings. She will likely weigh 60-70 pounds as an adult. Petunia is a bit reserved when meeting new people and she has a more mellow personality than her siblings. She loves being wherever you are and enjoys getting attention. She has a favorite pink toy she likes to walk around with. Petunia is a bright and playful pup that is learning the commands come and sit. She gets along with all types of dogs and she has been introduced to felines.

German Shorthaired Pointers are known for being an extremely high-energy breed. A walk around the block is simply a warm-up for these dogs. They require serious daily walking, running, hiking, swimming or joining you for bike rides. They can be vocal and are not good apartment dogs. Obedience training is a must to prevent unwanted destructive behaviors. Due to their very bouncy and rowdy natures, they are not a good match for young children or older adults. These pups might be great candidates for agility training or advanced obedience training. If you are looking for a mellow couch potato, this dog is NOT for you! Petunia is looking for an adopter that can spend time with her and continue her training. She is currently in foster care and meet and greets can be arranged ONLY after your online application has been approved.

Due to COVID and high demand, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
