Newton is a special deaf 2-month-old Terrier mix puppy with lots of love to share! He came to AFRP with his mother Cookie and his siblings after being surrendered to the Monterey County Animal Shelter on April 1. Full of happy puppy energy, Newton loves playing with toys and romping with his puppy friends. He does everything other puppies do, he just cannot hear. We expect he will weigh 10 – 12 pounds as an adult dog. Newton is looking for an adopter with the time to raise and train a puppy using hand signals and positive reinforcement. Deaf dogs cannot ever be let off leash in open areas. Newton is currently in foster care and he is available for meet and greets by appointment.
