Hi, I'm Murdock. I was adopted on November 20!

Border Collie

Brown-White

Baby, Male

Murdock is a happy-go-lucky 3-month-old rough coated Border Collie puppy that will likely weigh 40 – 5o pounds as an adult. True to his breed, Murdock is bright, attentive and learns quickly. He plays hard and when he’s all tuckered out, he loves to cuddle with her person for a nice nap. He’s a happy, boisterous pup that can be mouthy but can be redirected with a toy. He is doing great with his house training. Murdock is one of a large group of dogs that were living in poor conditions and were confiscated by animal control. Currently in foster care, Murdock is ready to leave the past behind him and become a shining star in a family of his own. Because he had to fight for every morsel of food in his previous life, Murdock does exhibit some resource guarding around other dogs, which is understandable. He’ll do well with a savvy adopter that can help him work through that issue, and can keep her both mentally and physically active. Herding breeds are working dogs, and without work they can become bored! Murdock might be a great candidate for agility training, herding or other dog sports. This breed can tend to “herd” kids by nipping at heels, so an adult adopter or family with kids over age 10 would be best. Murdock is neutered and has received his first vaccine – he’ll require boosters in the near future. If you can help this sweet pup live his best life, please fill out an online application.

Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
