Monty is currently Sponsored by:
Monty is ready for a family of his own! He’s a 9-month-old, 75-pound Golden Doodle pup that looks mostly like a Golden Retriever. He came to AFRP when his guardian needed help rehoming him. He grew up in a backyard situation without proper socialization with other people or animals, and he needs an adopter that can help him work through these issues with gentle patience. Currently in foster care, this handsome boy is super sweet and well-behaved. Very calm for a puppy his age, Monty walks like a gentleman on the leash. He is confident when going new places and gets along with smaller dogs but can be reactive to other large dogs. He is good with cats when properly introduced. He’s doing well with his potty training and he is quickly learning his basic obedience commands. He is not a barker. Monty is looking for an adopter that can give him additional training, daily exercise, socialization with other dogs, supervision and brushing. This is a large dog that will enjoy adequate space and a nice yard to romp in. He will do fine in an experienced household that can commit to working through issues as they crop up. Kids over age 6 only. Monty is currently in foster care and is available for meet and greets. The first step is to fill out an online application.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
