Maurice is a loving, resilient chihuahua mix. He is 7 years old and weighs 10 pounds. This sweet dog was originally adopted from AFRP as a puppy, but was returned to our care when his family could no longer care for him. He was returned in a very sad, stinky state with bald, scaly, inflamed skin and ears and required the removal of nearly ten teeth. Over the course of a year, he recovered and is now healthy and happy. Maurice will require a special diet, frequent baths, and veterinary monitoring to ensure that his skin issues do not flair up again. Maurice is ready
to live his best life in a new home! He gets along well with other dogs (and cats with a slow introduction), is potty trained, and puts himself to bed each night by curling up and covering himself with his blanket. He is happy to sleep in a crate, near your bed, or in bed with you. Maurice is a sweet and affectionate dog that is looking forward to a future of lap-time cuddles, short walks around the neighborhood, and sunbathing in the backyard.
