Hi, I'm Lucy. I was adopted on April 22!
Chihuahua Mix
Tan and White
Adult, Female
Lucy is a sweet and gentle 1-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix with enchanting green eyes and a long and low physique. She is currently in foster care after coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services, where she came in as a timid stray. Lucy has blossomed in foster care and she’s a delightful little dog that loves lap time and taking short walks. In her playful moments, she loves chasing balls and gnawing her chew toys. She loves sunbathing on a sunny day, and exploring the garden. Lucy can still be shy with new people, but once she is comfortable with her person she is very affectionate. Lucy likes other small dogs (large dogs frighten her) and she ignores cats. She is doing well with her house training and she’s working on her basic obedience commands. Lucy walks on the leash with no pulling. Still a work in progress, Lucy is looking for a patient adopter in a calm and peaceful household that can continue her training and can help her build confidence. She will need time to adjust to a new home, but the right person will be rewarded with a loyal little friend for life. Adult household or family with gentle teens preferred. Meet and greets can be arranged once an application is approved.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
