Say hello to Hugo! This happy, 1-year-old, 15-pound companion dog seems to have a permanent smile on his face since coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services. A bit shy and scared initially, Hugo warms up quickly and bonds closely with his caregivers. He likes both men and women and he gets along nicely with other dogs. Currently in foster care, Hugo is busy working on his house training and his basic obedience manners. He never had any formal training in the past, and he would benefit from a session of dog obedience classes in his new home. He seems indifferent to cats, and he would likely do fine with older, gentle children. Hugo is a wonderful match for a fairly quiet household with someone home much of the day. Hugo is a “people” dog through and through – you won’t find a more loyal or joyful little friend! His coat will require regular professional grooming.
