Hi, I'm Hank. I was adopted on January 22!
Australian Shepherd
Black and Tan
Adult, Male
Hank is a handsome 2-year-old, 40-pound black and tan Australian Shepherd that is eager to join you for life’s adventures. He is currently in foster care after coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Currently in foster care, Hank is busy learning to be a dog. It is apparent that he did not have much socialization or training in his previous life, and in the beginning he was afraid of things like doorways, the leash, and other normal household noises and activities. As a result, he’s a bit of a velcro dog that likes to be by your side at all times. With positive reinforcement, additional training and more life experience, Hank will gain confidence and will make a wonderful companion dog. He has a very sweet temperament and he seems to be curious and friendly with other dogs. Hank is not crate trained, and he’s working on his potty training skills. He’ll do best with a patient adopter with herding dog experience. An active household with a large securely fenced yard, and people that are home most of the time would be ideal. This sweet boy has lots of love to share! For more information or to arrange a meet and greet, please fill out an online application.
Please note: Due to Covid-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
