Hi, I'm Geno. I was adopted on March 19!

Chihuahua Mix

Tan

Adult, Male

Sweet friend! Geno is a 2-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix that loves to cuddle with you on the couch, go for walks, and greet you with wags, kisses and smiles! Geno is feeling great after being hit by a car as a stray. He suffered a dislocated hip joint and a fractured pelvis, which required surgical repair. Despite a rough start, Geno is now happy and pain-free, though does have a unique slightly sideways walk, which just adds to his charm. This good boy is house trained, crate trained, and gets along nicely with cats and other small dogs (can be intimidated by large dogs.) Currently in foster care, Geno loves riding in the car, napping in the sunshine and joining you for walks. He is good on the leash, loves treats and learns quickly. Geno is very shy with new people, and he’s looking for an adopter that can take time to earn his trust, can keep him safe and give him lots of love and attention. Introductions to new people needs to be done very slowly and carefully. Adult adopter or family with older kids preferred due to his fragile size and timid personality. Geno requires another friendly mentor dog in the home to help him gain confidence.  For more information or to set up a meet and greet, please fill out an online application.

Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
