Hi, I'm Edward. I was adopted on September 22!

German Shepherd

Tan and Black

Adult, Male

What a transformation! Edward is a handsome 2-year-old, 90-pound German Shepherd that has recovered from an uncomfortable skin condition. When he came to us from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services, he was itchy, missing large patches of fur and suffered from a painful ear infection. Happily, a combination of a special diet, medication and soothing baths transformed him into the gorgeous dog you see today. Edward (nicknamed Wiley as in Wile E. Coyote) is a friendly, affectionate and easygoing dog that gets along nicely with other dogs and enjoys going for walks and hikes. Highly intelligent, Edward is house trained, well mannered in the house and learns quickly. He has had experience living with dog-savvy cats.  Edward can get a bit anxious and whiny at times, but once he feels safe and secure he is a calm and quiet companion. He can get a bit mouthy when playing, and is not a good fit for a home with young children. He is particularly comfortable with women, but does learn to trust men as well. Edward is looking for an adopter experienced with large dogs that can help him move forward from a rough past and can continue his training. He is a large, strong dog that needs regular exercise and plenty of daily attention and companionship. He has successfully transitioned from his prescription diet to regular food. His adopter will need to watch for allergy flare-ups and feel comfortable working with their vet to keep him healthy and happy. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved.
