Hi, I'm Dolly. I was adopted on September 10!
Yorkie/Maltese Mix
Black
Baby, Female
A bit of a “diamond in the ruff,” Dolly is a sweet puppy that had a rough start in life, yet has the potential to become a wonderful companion dog for a kind and patient adopter that will give her time to blossom and gain confidence. This 3-month-old, 5-pound Yorkie/Maltese mix (best guess) came to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animals Services as a terrified little stray that was too traumatized to go up for adoption. Happily, after some time in foster care, Dolly is starting to relax a bit and she’s even learning to play with toys. She is still shy with people, but is learning to trust those that are kind to her. She is compatible with cats, and she is very fond of other dogs. She will need to go to a home with another friendly “mentor dog” that can help show her that the world is not such a scary place. Dolly is not house trained and she does not yet know any basic commands, so her adopter will need to gently start from scratch on her education. She will do best with an adopter experienced with timid dogs. A quiet adult household will be the best match for her. With continued training and socialization, Dolly will reach her full doggy potential! Meet and greet can be arranged once your online application has been approved.
