Hi, I'm Charley. I was adopted on March 30!

Small Mixed Breed

Tan and Black

Adult, Male

Eager to be the center of your universe, Charley is a shaggy sweetheart looking for his forever home. He’s a 2-year-old, 16-pound cutie  that is currently in foster care after coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Initially very shy, Charley has blossomed into a sweet and cuddly boy that rolls over for belly rubs and scratches. He is super affectionate with both men and women, but he needs a home with no children. He is crate trained,  he’s working on his potty training, and he is well-behaved when being groomed, a must for keeping his coat in good shape. Charley is anxious when traveling in the car, but he tolerates it as long as his bed is in the back seat where he can watch his person.  Charley loves to go for walks and he enjoys playing with other polite dogs that do not come on too strong. He is good with cats.

Charley requires a home with another playful mentor dog in the household, and adopters with previous experience with shy/fearful dogs. He is a flight risk and requires a secure yard with fencing at least 6 feet high.  Charley will need at least a two-week adjustment period in a new home before he will be comfortable enough to let down his guard and show his happy, cuddly self.  Patience will be rewarded! Meet and greets can be arranged once your application has been received and approved.
