Hi, I'm Bree. I was adopted on May 31!
Mixed Breed - Medium
Gray
Adult, Female
If you love mutts, you’ll adore Bree, a cheerful 1-year-old, 25-pound shaggy mix that appears to be part Muppet and part teddy bear! Bree came to AFRP after a good citizen saw her get hit by a car while running loose as a stray. Our partners at the Hitchcock Road Animal Services called us for help. Bree underwent full-body x-rays and a complete exam, and fortunately there were no broken bones, just bruises and cuts that were stitched and stapled. She was also peppered with shotgun wounds, meaning someone had used her for cruel target practice. Despite her rough start, Bree has blossomed in foster care. She enjoys going for walks and meeting new people. Bree sleeps in a crate and she is doing well with her house training skills. She has not had experience with cats, but Bree absolutely loves other dogs, and she would be happiest as a member of a household with another playful and friendly dog buddy. She should do fine in an adult household or a family with kids over age 7. Bree is a mischievous and slightly stubborn dog looking for an experienced adopter with plenty of time to spend with her and can continue her basic obedience training. Meet and greets can be arranged after an online application is submitted and approved.
Due to COVID and high demand, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County, CA.
