Birdie (aka Lady Bird) is a sweet and smart 1-year-old, 19-pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Currently in foster care, Birdie is crate trained, house trained, and knows her name. She is a bit shy with new people and new experiences (a bit timid with men) but once she bonds with you she is a wonderful little companion, staying right by your side. Birdie gets along with other dogs once properly introduced, but being a herding dog she’ll do best in a home without cats or other small animals. Birdie can be somewhat protective of her food and her crate, and her adopter will need to continue to work with her on resource guarding issues. This is not an apartment dog – Birdie is an active and noisy girl – it’s best to have neighbors that don’t mind some joyful barking and backyard play! Adult household or family with kids over age 12 preferred. Meet and greets can be arranged ONLY after an online application is submitted and approved.
