Hi, I'm Asher. I was adopted on December 14!

Terrier Mix

Black and Tan

Adult, Male

Asher is a bright, affectionate and energetic 2-year-old, 10-pound Terrier mix that will be a wonderful match for an active family. Originally from the Salinas Animal Shelter, Asher was adopted from AFRP last year, but returned to our care when his family could no longer care for him. This happy little fella loves people, gets along with other dogs, and has lived with a cat and with children. He has a happy whole-body wag that tells you how much he enjoys your company! Asher enjoys going for walks, and he is house trained. He knows the commands sit, stay, shake, out and off. He is very smart and eager to learn, plus he is very treat motivated! He has a lot of energy and he’ll do best with an adopter that can play with him and give him plenty of daily exercise. He can be vocal when he is outside and sees a stranger or a dog passing by, so he might do best with a fairly private backyard area.  He’s a delightfully smart, cheerful and funny dog that is ready for any adventure but can also calm down when everyone is relaxing. He is currently in foster care and he’s available for meet and greets. The first step is to fill out an online application.

Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
