Hi, I'm Arnez. I was adopted on February 25!

Help give this tale of a tail a happy ending! Arnez is a sleek, golden-eyed 6-year-old black cat that was originally adopted from AFRP as a kitten. Somehow his life took some twists and turns, and recently we were contacted by Pacific Grove Animal Control about a cat that was found with an AFRP microchip and a terribly mangled tail. We’ll never know what happened to cause the injury, but with a terrible infection and gangrene setting in, 2/3 of Arnez’ tail needed to be surgically removed to save his life. Happily, Arnez healed beautifully in foster care, and once his fur grows back he’ll resemble a bobcat or a Manx with his cute, stubby tail. Perhaps the sweetest cat ever, Arnez has completely enchanted his foster family. He’s a relaxed, lovable, curious and snuggly boy that loves to play with his toys. He gets along with other cats and dogs, and he is very good with gentle children. His foster mom calls him a love sponge – always ready to soak up more! Arnez is available for meet and greets once your application is approved.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
