Hi, I'm Annie. I was adopted on January 8!
Dutch Shepherd Mix
Black and Tan
Adult, Female
Ready for adventure! Annie is a 1-year-old, 37-pound Dutch Shepherd mix that loves to hike, run and romp at the beach. She’s a high-energy dog that would play fetch with you all day long, if she had her way! Currently in foster care after coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services as a suspected abuse case, Annie has blossomed into a wonderful companion that is doing well with her house training and is learning her basic obedience skills. She did not get any training in her past life, but she’s smart and she’s making up for lost time by learning new things quickly. Due to her rough past, Annie can be a bit reserved when meeting new people, especially men. But once she gets to know you she gives friendly licks and happy wags. She can be intimidated by large dogs, but gets along with other mellow dogs that are smaller. She has a high prey drive so cannot live with cats, rabbits or other small animals. Annie will thrive in an active adult household where she can get plenty of daily exercise, additional training, lots of positive attention and a spacious backyard for playing. Families with kids over age 7 should be fine. For more information about arranging a meet and greet with this special dog, please fill out an online application.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County or Santa Cruz County.
