Orphaned when her family could no longer care for her, Annie is a super sweet 1-year-old, 15-pound small mixed breed with elegant long legs and soulful brown eyes. Currently in foster care, Annie is a timid dog that is slowly but surely gaining confidence. Treat-motivated and eager to please, Annie responds best  to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. She did not have any formal training in her former household, and she still needs to learn basic obedience commands and basic leash-walking skills. She is doing very well with potty training and she happily sleeps in her crate at night. She also uses her crate as a safe haven when she gets overwhelmed. Once she gets to know and trust you, Annie is a wonderful friend who enjoys curling on your lap for petting and cuddles. She is unknown with cats, but she gets along very nicely with other dogs, and she would benefit from having a friendly and confident mentor dog in her new household. Annie is looking for a very patient adopter that is experienced with helping shy dogs gain confidence. She requires an adult adopter or family with kids over age 12. Meet and greets can be arranged once our required online application has been received and approved.
