Hi, I'm Alexander. I was adopted on March 22!
Miniature Poodle
Grey
Adult, Male
Alexander is great! This handsome 2-year-old, 17-pound Miniature Poodle with a happy, curious and joyful personality. He is currently in foster care after coming to AFRP from the Hitchcock Road Animal Services after being picked up as a timid stray. Alexander can still be shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and is friendly with everyone. He gets along with other dogs of all sizes, and he is indifferent to cats. (He does want to chase birds, however!) Alexander has a lot of energy, and he’ll be a good fit for a household where he’ll get plenty of companionship, attention and exercise.
Alexander is doing well with his house training skills and he is crate trained. He is generally easy to handle and he tolerates bathing and grooming sessions. (A must for this breed.) Alexander still needs to work on his basic obedience skills and leash-walking manners, but he learns quickly. He has some separation anxiety when left alone, and does best in a covered crate when you are away for short periods. He’s a great match for an adopter that can give him lots of love and can continue his training. Meet and greets can be arranged once an application is approved.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
