Marlowe is 3 yr old, 80lb Anatolian Shepherd with a lot of playful energy and love to give. Marlowe is blossoming in foster care after coming to Hitchcock Animal Services as a stray. He was initially very fearful of just about everything and very shy with people, as well as severely underweight (he should ideally weigh 85-100lbs). He is truly finding himself and learning to enjoy being a companion. He loves to romp with his foster siblings and is wonderful at walking on a leash. He’s working on some basic obedience including sit and come. We can tell this boy is smart! He is crate trained and potty trained. His foster family is so proud of how far he’s come in the short time they have had him. He will benefit from some basic obedience training with positive reinforcement to build his confidence. He is highly treat motivated and loves affection which will make training easier. He loves to come to rest his huge head in your lap for ear rubs and chin scratches. Registration for positive-based training is a requirement for adoption. Marlowe requires an adopter or family with large breed/working breed experience with a high level of patience and the willingness to go at his speed. Could that be you?
