Al & Lynn Frischmann

It’s a good thing Al and Lynn Frischmann enjoy driving! Some weeks they log in as many as 2,000 miles while transporting at-risk shelter dogs and cats to animal welfare organizations all over the state of California and beyond. This dedicated husband and wife duo are an integral part of AFRP’s Life Link Transportation Program, which has saved over 1160 shelter animals in the past year alone.
Al and Lynn became involved with transporting rescue animals when they were living in Wisconsin. Volunteering for H.O.P.E. Safehouse, they helped transport hundreds of pets from Louisiana to a temporary shelter in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. When they moved to California in 2007 they were eager to continue this rewarding work. They became involved in AFRP’s Life Link Transport Program, and currently do between two and four lifesaving transports every week, rain or shine.
As rewarding as the transport work is, it is also frustrating for Al and Lynn, seeing firsthand how many more animals need our help. They’d like to encourage everyone to consider becoming involved with AFRP’s Life Link Transport Program, either by volunteering or by donating. “We can literally save a dog or cat’s life for an average of $6 per pet. It is the best bargain in the world,” states Lynn.
