Animal Friends Rescue Project enabling us to fulfill our mission and
help out as many animals as we can. We'd like to take this opportunity

A big thank you to organizer Janet McTurk and all the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel families who gathered at Carmel Beach to have fun and support AFRP Saturday April 18. Over 100 Cavies and their human friends dressed in their finest "Rock and Roll" costumes and enjoyed a sunny day, yummy food, costume contests and raffle prizes. The event raised $3,062 for homeless AFRP dogs and cats!

- Jan Fennell, "The Dog Listener," who made a rare U.S. appearance to educate dog families and raise money for AFRP. Over 100 people attended Jan's seminar April 9 at the Hyatt in Monterey. The event raised $3,556 for AFRP's rescue programs.
- CTB McGraw-Hill for their $1,500 donation to AFRP as part of Global Volunteer Day. A big thank you to organizer Renu Joy and her team of 10 volunteers who scrubbed, painted, stapled, folded and organized at the AFRP Adoption Center Friday May 15. The work may not have been glamorous, but it was very much needed and appreciated!
- Om Oasis Yoga & Spin Center of Monterey for raising $457.91 for AFRP at their 4th Annual "Get Down for the Dogs" Fundraiser.
Thank you to following Foundations for their grants to AFRP in 2008:
- The E.R. McCown Family Fund of the Community Foundation of Monterey County for $30,000 to provide funding for major and minor medical expenses of the dogs and cats rescued by AFRP and to help purchase equipment for our office and adoption center.
- The Harden Foundation for $15,000 to help pay for spay/neuter surgeries of the dogs and cats AFRP will rescue in the coming year.
- The Pebble Beach AT&T Foundation for $19,500 to help with spay/neuter expenses and medical expenses for the animals we rescue.
- The Perrine Charitable Foundation for $7,200 to help pay for boarding expenses for three rescued dogs every month.
- The Thornton S. Glide, Jr. and Katrina D. Glide Foundation for $10,000 to help with our Life Link Transportation Program.
- The Pedigree Foundation for $1,740 to help cover expenses for the dogs we rescue.
