Looking For a Home

Valentina has seen a lot in the past year. While she's been patiently waiting in her cage, she's seen countless cute kittens being chosen by excited families. She's seen shy cats and friendly cats being adopted. She's seen one-eyed cats, three-legged cats, and cats with FIV being placed into loving arms. With kitten season just around the corner, Valentina will once again be competing with cute fluffy kittens for the attention of potential adopters.

Valentina was probably under a year old when she was picked up as a stray and taken to the Salinas Animal Services in February 2007. When she wasn't adopted at the shelter, the staff contacted AFRP for help. Since then Valentina has spent time at several different AFRP adoption sites, and took a nice long break living in a foster home where she could run and play to her heart's content. She could nap by a sunny window and watch the birds, and then curl up in her foster mom's lap and purr with happiness.

But now Valentina is back in a cage, hoping the next person to come through the door will choose her. She knows what it's like to live in a loving home, and she would give anything to have a person who will pet her, talk to her and offer her a warm lap when she needs to feel safe and loved. Can you help?

Valentina is not particularly fond of other cats, and needs to be a single cat in the home. If you would like to meet Valentina, give us a call and we can arrange to have you meet her in a private room away from the other cats at the adoption center. She will relax and show you her true personality. Valentina is in our Compassionate Choice program - her adoption fee will be waived to an adopted who is a good match for her. 831-333-0722

Every Life Counts

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Valentina is anxious to find a permanent home because although she's off the streets and safe--she'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. She wants to find a special family to call her own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more cats like Valentina?
