Looking For a Home

Is that the sound of a sheep bleating? A creaky door opening? No . . . it’s just Cinnamon, saying hello with her distinctive gruff and gravelly voice. Some of our volunteers make it a point to stop by to visit Cinnamon every day just to hear her trademark meow -- it never fails to bring a smile and a chuckle.

Of course, Cinnamon has many other wonderful qualities too. You won’t find a better napper anywhere, and even if it’s bustling in the office, Cinnamon can doze and meditate like a Zen Master. When it comes to dinnertime? Let’s just say you won’t find a more appreciative appetite anywhere. Cinnamon loves being brushed and massaged with the Zoom Groom, and likes being petted too. Give her a kitty treat (low calorie, please) and she’ll be your friend forever!

Cinnamon has a long history with AFRP, originally coming to us as a young adult cat from the Monterey County Animal Services. She returned to us six months ago when her elderly owner could no longer care for her. Cinnamon has been living as our “office cat” to ensure she gets plenty of daily exercise, and to make sure her food intake is supervised. With bathing suit season just around the corner, Cinnamon is working to lose about five pounds to get down to a healthier weight.

Though Cinnamon is comfortable in the AFRP office, it’s not the same as having a real home. She dreams of the day she’ll once again have a home of her own with a sunny window perch, a cozy cat bed and a person who loves her. Are you the special someone Cinnamon has been waiting for? Give us a call at 831-333-0722 or stop by the AFRP Adoption Center at 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove to meet this charming cat.

Every Life Counts

Cinnamon is just one of thousands of animals AFRP have rescued since 1998.

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Cinnamon is anxious to find a permanent home because although she is off the streets and safe--she'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. She wants to find a special family to call her own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more cats like Cinnamon?
