Looking For a Home

Meet Charlie! Handsome, yes, but he’s not just another pretty face. Charlie has charm, intelligence, grace and an unlimited supply of sloppy kisses! Charlie is a pit bull mix, and he’s out to prove that you shouldn’t believe everything you hear. The most dangerous part of Charlie is his constantly wagging tail!

Charlie is just over one year old, and is still full of puppyish enthusiasm and playfulness. He was picked up as a stray in South Monterey County in April, and the folks at the King City Shelter immediately fell in love with him. There was no doubt that Charlie deserved a chance to be somebody’s cherished companion.

Currently in foster care, Charlie is learning new things every day. He is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. He loves playing with other dogs, especially his best friend Winnie, who is also available for adoption. (A pair of wonderful pit bulls, anyone?) He does chase cats however, so would do best in a feline-free household. Charlie’s a great match for an adopter who can continue his training and ensure that he continues to be a good ambassadog for his breed.

Every Life Counts

Charlie is just one of thousands of animals AFRP have rescued since 1998.

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Charlie is anxious to find a permanent home because although he is off the streets and safe-- he'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. He wants to find a special family to call his own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more dogs like Charlie?
