Looking For a Home

Bonnie is one of the cats that has been with AFRP the longest, and we're not sure why. She's a gorgeous 4-year-old longhaired calico with tons of personality. Her good behavior and the length of time she's been with us (16 months) has earned her the privilege of being "cage-free," and Bonnie thoroughly enjoys being the free-range cat at Posh Pets - roaming the aisles, meeting the customers, trying out the pet beds and sampling the latest cat toys.

After losing her home in August 2008, Bonnie spent some time at the Monterey County Shelter before making her way to the AFRP adoption program. Since then, the volunteers and staff have gotten to know Bonnie quite well, and she's everyone's favorite. A very easygoing cat who enjoys curling up in your lap, she also seeks out attention when she's in the mood. Bonnie is known for rubbing up against the legs of Posh Pets customers to encourage them to reach down and give her a scratch behind the ears.

Bonnie is in perfect health and enjoys mealtime (she does love her kitty treats!). Being a longhaired cat means that she'll need regular grooming to help keep her coat in good shape and free of mats. Bonnie would be happy to be a single pet in the household, or could also live with other dogs or cats that don't expect her to play with them. She's find with other animals as long as they don't pester her. (She has given an overly eager dog or two a firm bat on the nose to put them in their place). Bonnie seems to gravitate toward adults, and would be best suited for an adult household.

Bonnie enjoys her freedom at Posh Pets, but it isn't the same as having a home of her own. She wears her little "Adopt Me" bandana to remind visitors that she's ready and willing to go home! Bonnie would love to meet you - simply go to Posh Pets, 160 Fountain Ave in Pacific Grove and look for the big beautiful calico kitty!

Every Life Counts

Bonnie is just one of thousands of animals AFRP have rescued since 1998.

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Bonnie is anxious to find a permanent home because although she is off the streets and safe--she'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. She wants to find a special family to call her own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more cats like Bonnie?
