Cinnamon sponsor me Cinnamon is a 12-year-old brown tabby who returned to AFRP when her elderly caretaker could no longer keep her. Originally from the Monterey County Shelter, Cinnamon is now the AFRP office cat, where she warms laps and charms everyone she meets with her funny, friendly meow that sounds like a creaky door. Cinnamon enjoys being petted and brushed, and is not shy about asking for attention, or meowing for her next meal! Cinnamon would prefer to be a single cat in the home, but does get along with polite dogs. Cinnamon is currently the AFRP office cat at 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. Stop by and ask to meet her! Read more about Cinnamon and view her video. Cinnamon is a Compassionate Choice Cat, adoption fee waived, please read more. Hope sponsor me Hope and her friend Mercy, also on web, are 1-year-old blind cats who came to AFRP from a rescue organization in Vietnam. They are gentle and healthy cats that had been used as practice subjects for veterinary students learning eye removal techniques, and then left at a government clinic. The Kairos Coalition arranged for Hope and Mercy to make the journey to AFRP to give them a chance to recover and find their forever homes. Hope is a very sweet and petite girl with the coloring of an Abyssinian. Though completely blind, her other senses are very acute and she is able to map out her surroundings and even play with kitty toys! Hope and Mercy are looking for a safe, indoor home with an adopter that can give them the rich, happy life they deserve. For more information please fill out an online adoption application. Orange Peel sponsor me Orange Peel is a healthy, 6-year-old orange tabby with beautiful white markings. She and her sister were adopted as kittens from AFRP in 2007, but after years of peaceful coexistence the two sisters stopped getting along, and Orange Peel returned to our care. She is a purring little love bug, and is happy to receive neck rubs an cheek scratches. Though she is not excited about being picked up, she'll find her way onto your lap when she's wanting some love and attention. Orange Peel would do best in an adult household. Meet Orange Peel at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove. Read more about Orange Peel. Sponsored By: Cleo & Orange Julius Wallin in memory of Trooper Elder |
Mario sponsor me Mario is an 8-month-old tabby teenager with a friendly, curious, playful and cuddly personality. Due to an accident or injury, Mario lost the use of his hind legs, but he is not sorry for himself in the least. He just wants to go about the business of being a happy young cat: exploring his world, enjoying treats, playing with his toys and napping on the lap of someone he loves. Mario loves zooming around on his little blue wheelchair cart and is able to use his low-sided litter box like a champ. We are hoping that with time, Mario will regain some function in his hind legs and may even walk again unassisted. In the meantime he is loving life and deserves a chance to love and be loved by a special person of his very own. For more info about adopting Mario, please fill out an online adoption application. Sponsored By: Angela Miller & Lucy Ahrens |
Grace Grace is a gentle and friendly 8-year-old with a fabulous chocolate brown and white coat, and lovely golden eyes. Even though mustaches are not very ladylike, you have to admire the white markings that make Grace appear to have a magnificent mustache! Gracie was adopted from AFRP as a kitten, returned to us in 2010 when her owner passed away, and then returned again recently when her person had to go into assisted living. We're hoping the third time is the charm for this very sweet kitty who has given so much joy to those who have known her. Meet Grace at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove. |

Even though he's a bit unsure about all the recent changes in his life, Henry never gets grumpy. He's always appreciates some gentle petting and he leans into your hand when you scratch his cheeks. His cat bed is his safety zone, and he feels safe when he's in it. Henry is looking for a kind and gentle adopter who can give him time to adjust to a new household. Meet Henry at the Petsmart adoption site in Sand City. |

Robbie Burns sponsor me How could you not love this face? Robbie Burns is a 10-year-old Scottish Fold mix (or his ears may be bent due to old injuries) who lived as a neighborhood stray until being attacked by a dog. A kind family took him to the vet and cared for him through his recovery, but they could not keep him permanently. He's a lovable old boy, very affectionate and very appreciative. He gets along fine with gentle kids and has excellent litter box manners. Robbie tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) but is healthy at this time and can expect to live a long happy life. He would do best as a single cat in an indoor-only home. Meet Robbie at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove. Read more about FIV. Sponsored By: Vitaliy Struchkov in memory of Katia & Masha |

This sweetie is looking for a quiet adult home where he can blossom into the affectionate and playful cat he was meant to be. Bandit tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) but is a healthy cat and can live a long and happy life. Read more about Bandit. Cats with FIV need indoor-only homes. Lazy Daze is in foster care in Santa Cruz. For more info please fill out an online application. |
Lumpy sponsor me Lumpy is an amazing cat. He's about 2 years old, and came to us from a horrible hoarding situation. He gets along great with people of all ages, with other cats, and even loves dogs. Lumpy does have some ongoing issues with skin allergies, and needs an adopter that will be diligent about giving him flea control each month, as he is highly sensitive to flea bites. He takes a daily prednisone tablet as well, which costs less than $15 per month. For more information about Lumpy, please fill out an application. |

Outdoor Cats Do you have a ranch, barn, greenhouse, workshop or studio that could be a safe haven for a feral cat or two? We often have a few cats in our care who have lived their whole lives outdoors, and are not comfortable in our adoption center. They will have already been spayed/neutered, and immunized. If you can provide food, water and shelter for feral cats who needs a safe, secure outdoor home, please contact us. We recommend a good cat fencing system that can be used for outdoor cats or for your indoor cats who want a safe outdoor adventure. Read more about cat enclosures. |

Fancy We are looking for a new home for a beautiful champion silver Persian. She is a Shaded Mackerel Tabby Female B/D 04-24-07. Fancy is wonderful, beautiful, amazing... but really, really wants to be an only cat. With three young daughters, that isn't the case in our home and it makes her nervous and scared all the time. She is a Diva, plain and simple and wants ALL the attention on her own terms. Fancy loves to be admires and petted, when SHE feels like it. She's not a biter or a scratcher, she just prefers to be like Garbo.. "alone." As her human mom, I know she really just is a bit of an anti-social, introvert cat. She'd do best in a quiet home with just adults, or a single owner whom she have all to herself. We adopted her as an adult after her competitive days were over, she is fixed and current on all vaccines and has lots of years to share with a new family. Fancy is not an AFRP cat. For more information please call Cindy at 831-917-3446 or email cindybelllou@gmail.com |
Tessa Tessa is a 3-year-old spayed female tuxedo cat who was rescued from an abusive home when she was 5 months old. She moved into a household with four other cats, two dogs, a snake and an iguana. Her family worked hard to help her overcome her past issues with love and attention. She is now cuddly at times and prefers to be left alone sometimes too. She is very smart and is a good hunter. She goes on daily walks with her people and their animals. Recently she has shown her family that she prefers to be a single animal in the home with a person of her own. Tessa is not an AFRP cat. For more information about this delightful cat, please call Kevin or Jill at 831-626-3793. |
