Poland
sponsor me

Poland is a super-affectionate 2-year-old orange tabby with soft, medium-long fur and a gorgeous fluffy tail. She came to us as a young stray mama cat with a litter of kittens to care for. She raised her family in foster care and was an excellent mother. Now her kittens are adopted and Poland is ready for a home of her own. She's playful, curious and loves to be brushed. She enjoys following you around and will hop on your lap when you sit down. Offer her a kitty treat and she'll be your friend forever! She is good with other cats and dogs. Poland has an autoimmune skin condition called Pemphigus, and is on a very small dose of prednisone. She will need to be monitored for her lifetime. Read more about Poland. Poland is currently in foster care, let us know if you'd like to meet her! Poland is an "Animal Friends with Benefits" cat, please read more.

Clara Bell
sponsor me

Clara Bell is a sweet and gentle 2- year-old grey and white cat who was born in an old school bus at a wrecking yard in south Monterey County. She was fed by an employee, but never had the luxury of living as a house cat. She loves to be petted and rolls over on her back when you rub her head. Clara Bell is a shy girl and will require a patient adopter who will give her plenty of time to adjust to her new home. Setting her up in a quiet spare bedroom while you are getting to know each other would be perfect. Give Clara Bell a chance and she'll be your loyal little friend. Can you give her story a happy ending? Read more about Clara Bell. Meet Clara at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

Love
sponsor me

Love is blind, but that does not mean she can't live a rich and happy life filled with love, fun and comfort. Found as an abandoned stray wandering the streets of Salinas, Love is a 2-year-old sweetheart who purrs and kneads her paws with pleasure the moment you start to stroke her soft fur. We had her examined by Dr. Gratzek, our local veterinary ophthalmologist, who diagnosed her with eyelid agenesis, a congenital condition that over time caused her to become almost completely blind. (We think she can see some light and shadow.) She is not in discomfort and needs no medication. Love is looking for a special adopter who can offer her a safe, indoor only home. Meet this special girl at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

Roo
sponsor me

Roo is a 1-year-old grey tabby with special needs. She came to us from the Salinas Shelter after coming in as an injured stray. Due to an old spinal injury, Roo is unable to use her hind legs like a normal cat, and instead she takes steps with her front legs, but hops like a bunny with her hind legs, which stay together when she moves. Roo is a super sweet and friendly girl who makes the most of her challenges and does not feel sorry for herself in the least. She's looking for a safe, indoor-only home where she can become a cherished family member. Meet Roo at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

Parker
sponsor me

Parker is a friendly and easygoing senior orange and white tabby with medium-long fur. Adopted from AFRP as a kitten 15 years ago, Parker was one of our organization's first adoptions. Sadly, his human parents split up, and Parker was recently returned to our care. We provide a lifelong safety net for our animals, and we're happy that we can help find Parker a loving home for his golden years. He has had an exam and is in good health, other than needing to gain some weight. He does NOT like dogs, but could live with another mellow cat. Meet Parker at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

Rory
sponsor me

Rory is a sweet but timid 5-year-old buff tabby who lost his home when his human parents divorced. He came in with his cat friend Parker, also on the web, but they do not need to be adopted together. Parker has a tipped right ear, which means he was neutered as part of a feral cat program at some point in his life. It takes him a bit longer to feel comfortable in new surroundings and to trust new people, but he's a very loyal friend once he has settled in. He'll do best with a patient adopter that can give him time to adjust. Meet Rory at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

James Bond
sponsor me

The name's Bond . . . James Bond! James is a debonair 2-year old tuxedo cat with a charming personality. We're not sure if he likes his kibble shaken or stirred, but he does enjoy cheek-scratches and head rubs! James was adopted from us as a youngster and recently returned to our care when his family could no longer care for him. They turned him loose in their neighborhood to fend for himself, and as a result James has a few scars on his ears from fighting the bad guys. He's now ready to keep his spying strictly confined to the comfort of his own home. Meet James Bond at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

Tony Montana
sponsor me

Say hello to our little friend! Tony Montana came to us from the Salinas Shelter. He was in rough shape with some broken teeth and a painful laceration that ran from his thigh to his rear hock, which required stitches. It's clear that Tony has not had an easy life, but he's a mellow, friendly and well-behaved cat who truly appreciates every gentle cheek scratch and head rub. The vet thinks he's about 8-9 years old. Tony has healed nicely from his injury, and is eager for a loving home and a soft bed to rest his head. He is healthy but did test positive for FIV, so needs to be an indoor-only cat. Read more about FIV. Meet Tony at the Pet Food Express adoption location at the Crossroads in Carmel. Click here for an online application.

He is looking for a new home because his family needs to relocate and he will do better in a quiet home with no other pets or children. He's a mellow, friendly cat with a very sweet and loving personality, but is skittish and stressed when there's a lot of activity. Oswald and Louie
Oswald (brown tabby, 9 years old) and Louie (orange tabby, 6 years old) are two buddies looking for a good home due to their owners having a new baby. Both are neutered, up-to-date with their vaccines, and have been indoor cats since they were kittens. Oswald is very much a loner, but has been known to snuggle up when the mood is right. Louie is shy, but will quickly become your shadow once he gets to know you. Both cats grew up with a dog in the house and are comfortable around them. They would do best in an adults only home or a home with older children (they have been known to swat at toddlers that are too hands-on). We'd really prefer to re-home them as a pair, but are willing to split them up if we can find good homes. Oswald and Louie currently live in San Jose, but their family is willing to drive them to a good home. For more info, please email John at johntrichards@outlook.com
Cassie and Chips
Cassie and Chips are a bonded pair of kitties that have been together their whole lives. They are about 16 years old but seem younger. Both need to lose some weight! They are curious and outgoing, both immediately started exploring their surroundings as soon as they arrived at my house. They also welcomed being pet and were happy to visit the food bowl. Their owner passed away last weekend and they are part of the "Caring Companions" foster program at Woods Humane Society in SLO. I took them in until a registered cat foster is available (I am actually a dog foster but they needed a place to go.) In the meantime, people can email Susan at: ssklee@pacbell.net

Chico is not an AFRP cat and currently lives near Bakersfield. His family can deliver him anywhere in California. For more info please call Lisa at 707-758-7350 or email lisaannoman@outlook.com
