AFRP only adopts out cats that have been spayed/neutered. The adoption fee is $150 which helps to cover the cost of all care the animal has received, including their spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV testing. Adopters are encouraged to take their new AFRP cat to one of our participating vets for a free wellness check (see list of participating vets).

This is one Charmin you'll want to squeeze (gently) all day long! He's a handsome 2-month-old flame point Siamese mix kitten with plush, medium-long fur. One look into those baby blue eyes and you'll fall in love! Charmin and his siblings were rescued as youngsters and were raised in foster care. He was found crouched in some dry grass at the Salinas Rodeo grounds as a tiny kitten, barely able to open his infected eyes. He underwent surgery to correct entropion, a painful eyelid condition that causes the cat's eyelashes to rub against the corneas. Outdoor Cats
Do you have a ranch, barn, greenhouse, workshop or studio that could be a safe haven for a feral cat or two? We often have a few cats in our care who have lived their whole lives outdoors, and are not comfortable in our adoption center. They will have already been spayed/neutered, and immunized. If you can provide food, water and shelter for feral cats who needs a safe, secure outdoor home, please contact us. Savannah is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She's a very affectionate cat who likes to sit on your lap, play with her toys and hang out in her soft kitty bed. Posted 8-19-16. Sweet black-and-white "Bennie" (Benjamin Buttons) needs a loving new home! His original owner rescued him as a kitten but unfortunately she passed away. Bennie is a Clark Gable of a cat; the photo doesn't do him justice. He's so handsome in his shiny black tux and white bib. And such a love-bug! Just over 4 years old, fixed and tested and had shots. Very mellow and happy, gets along with other cats and loves to be petted.The new owner will need to be patient with him at first because of his former-feral skittishness, and he might not be good with small kids for the same reason. Posted 7-21-16. Marvin is a 10-year-old tuxedo cat in need of a new home due to allergies in the household. His guardians call him the most gentle and sweet cat they have ever met. Marvin is neutered, healthy, and up to date on vaccines. He lived with other cats at one time in his life. He prefers to live indoors and is impeccable with his litter box habits. He is very patient with poking, prodding, and children, but does not have much experience with animals besides his sister. He is neutered and takes daily medication for feline epilepsy, though he has not had any seizures in years. He is an indoor cat and we hope that he can stay with his sister and litter-mate, Misty. She needs some time to warm up to strangers, but then will not leave their laps (or feet if they are sleeping!). Beef upsets her tummy, but she is otherwise a lover of all food, treats, and snuggles. Posted 6/23/16. Kiwi is a petite 15-year-old grey and white cat with a very affectionate personality. She has had excellent care over the years and recently had a dental. She is spayed and is current on vaccines. Kiwi loves people and is a very friendly lap cat with excellent litter box habits. She is fine with friendly dogs, but would prefer to be a single cat in the home. Kiwi is a healthy cat but did test positive for FIV after getting in a fight with a neighborhood cat. Kiwi’s family loves her but had to move to housing that is not pet friendly. They were told that Kiwi would be put down at their local shelter due to her age and FIV status.
